LIBRARY NEWS RELEASE, 2-16-2012
To celebrate Leap Year’s extra day on Wednesday, February 29th, 2012, the libraries are offering a special deal for one day only! If you have materials that are overdue that you haven’t returned (possibly because you didn’t want to find out how much your fine was), you can return them on February 29th to either the Auburntown Branch Library or the Adams Memorial Library in Woodbury and you will not have to pay a fine. It will be waived. So find those long overdue items and come to the library for your fine free return. This money-saving deal does not apply to replacement cards or fines that are already posted on your account. We hope to see the return of some much-missed materials.
When you came to the library did you find what you were seeking? If not, please remember that we are happy to take your recommendations for materials that you think would be good additions to the library collections. We are trying hard to acquire items you suggest so pick up a purchase recommendation slip on your next visit.
Adams Memorial Library needs teen and adult volunteers to help us with the checkin and checkout procedures for DVD’s. This collection has become so popular that the desk is often crowded with patrons waiting for DVD cases to be filled. If you would like to help, please stop in for a volunteer application. The added benefit is that you might see spot some movies you haven’t seen yet. Just this week we have added 29 new titles to the DVD collection including: Abduction, Cars 2, Mr. Popper’s Penguins, Moneyball, Super 8, and Cowboys & Aliens.
