Honoring Our Past-Investing in Our Future.
Adams Memorial Library is located on College Street in Woodbury, Tennessee. It was built in 1965 to honor the memory of local physician, banker, and businessman Dr. J.F. Adams and his wife, Laura Hudson Adams, who worked hard for many years to improve the lives of Cannon County's people. Their friends and family and many members of the community at large contributed the funds for construction. The library building and grounds are owned and maintained by the Dr. and Mrs. J.F. Adams Association . The association is a private non-profit volunteer organization which uses individual contributions and investment income to provide and maintain the library building and grounds, as a gift to the citizens of Cannon County. Actual operation of the library is the responsibility of Cannon County. The Friends of the Library, another non profit group of volunteers, provides significant additional funds.
The library is now almost 50 years old . It is time to renovate and expand the building , so it can house an excellent library for another 50 years.
