Since the library was decicated in 1965, Cannon County has grown from about 8,500 to over 13,800 with futher growth predicted. In that same time. library services have expanded to include not only books and newspapers, but also internet and Wi-Fi access, audio books, and movies. More and more citizens are using the library now, as well; both the number of people having library cards and the number of library items being circulated have more than doubled in the past three years.  The orginal building, although well designed for its time. needs significant upgrades to meet current and future needs.
