ANNOUNCEMENTS
As of Monday, May 21st 2012, access to the parking area and ramp at the back of the Adams Memorial Library will no longer be available. A temporary ramp will be constructed at the main College Street entrance using wood from the old ramp. This will make the building less accessible to the physically challenged during the first part of the week. During that time, those who need assistance should call 563-5861 during open hours to receive special attention including "curbside service”. Thanks for your patience while our wonderful new addition and parking area is being prepared.

Once again over the Memorial Day weekend people from out of town will be visiting relations in this area. The Adams Memorial Library will be open to those researching family history on Memorial Day, May 28.

This is the sixth year for this event and the hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Genealogy Room on the main floor for those wishing to share family history, donating a family file to put in the Genealogy Room, donating money to buy books in memory of a loved one. It’s also a good times to start your family history research.

For information, contact Peggy Wilson Tate at 615-563-5910 or ptateovr@dtccom.net. Adams Memorial Library is located at 212 College St. in Woodbury.

The first special program for Summer Reading is a performance by the students of the Cannon Arts Dance Studio on May 31st. We have it on good authority that there is a very special surprise set to happen during the show so please don’t miss it.

Summer Reading Program registration begins May 1st at both library outlets.  Let’s make this the biggest attendance year yet.  There will be fun and prizes for all age groups.

The library expansion and renovation project is scheduled to begin by the date of the roast. Preston Brothers Construction Company of Woodbury was awarded the contract. The completion date is by December 1, 2012.

Construction is underway! Several trees are being removed to make way for the addition and the new parking lot area. We are starting to become accustomed to the rumble of big machines.

You must have a valid library card in good standing to borrow digital items—overdue books and fines will prevent you from logging in. Also- be sure to log in with your borrower number and PIN before beginning your search to ensure that you have access to the hundreds of additional titles and copies that we make available to CCLS cardholders to shorten your waiting period for popular items. INCLEMENT WEATHER GUIDELINES
Bad weather occasionally forces the library board to close the library. The primary reason for library closure is road conditions. The board does not want people to risk their lives and the lives of others to return items to the library.Closure announcements will be made on the local radio station WBRY and our website. If the library is closed, due dates will be extended to the next working day. Fines are not charged for days that the libraries are closed.
